I almost forgot I had this thing
Tomorrow is Nisa's 20th birthday!! Happy B-day Nisa!
I got into San Antonio on Wednesday and ever since I've been having such a hard time adjusting. I can't sleep normally, and I feel like I've developed an allergic reaction to being here: the dry pollen-filled air, the fucking hot weather, just the smell of my own house makes me sneeze almost constantly.
Yesterday was my brother's graduation from 8th grade. It was so cute to see him in his tuxedo at the ceremony and I am so proud of him. He is way smarter than me (hard to believe, I know) and he's always done it on his own, no help from mommy like Anisa has. My parents are making him go to a high school that he doesnt really want to go to, mostly because none of his friends are going there, but I'm hoping he'll deal with it well.
My experience with Catholic schools leads me to believe that they are highly overrated and that high tuition costs dont necessarily equate to a high quality of education. If anything, I felt like the huge stress put on Jesus, God and all the uniforms, rules about how to sit, stand, act, etc. took up a big chunk of time that gave us an idealistic perspective of the real world. Dont get me wrong, I think learning about God is great, but Im just not sure I agree with having it incorporated into a school curriculum. My mom asks if I will be sending my future children to Catholic school and I honestly dont know. I've seen kids from public and private and they all seem the same to me. And I really dont think its possibly for kids to fully accept Catholic school's ideas if mom and dad dont believe it themselves.
I found a new singer that I like and her name is Maria Mena. I also enjoy listening to the new Beck CD.
Im heading back to LA on May 31st. Its crazy but initially I didnt feel like coming home at all this summer. But now that Im here I dont really want to leave. I will be moving into a new apartment this June/July and so I figured I'd spend some time packing and moving stuff into my new place before my job starts.
I did great this last semester. I am so grateful b/c now I get to stay at SC and keep my scholarship! I know my granny was helping me out on this one. God, I miss that woman.
